Learning Disability Care

Grossdale Care Agency provides specialist support to adult and young people with Learning Disabilities. We are thorough in recruiting staff with the correct level of experience, skills and aptitude to ensure that both staff and clients build an enjoyable and long-lasting relationship.

Grossdale Care Workers have knowledge and understanding of how to adapt communication styles with clients who have learning disabilities and check whether a client has understood all communications and any misunderstanding.

All Grossdale Care Workers are flexible and have an innovative approach to working, proficient knowledge of care planning systems and good decision making and problem solving skills.

We provide staff to all Learning Disability Services including:

Adult Learning Disabilities

Grossdale Care Workers have good knowledge of adult learning disabilities and the issues closely linked with learning disability support. These include an awareness of how the attitudes and beliefs of others affect individuals who have learning disabilities. Grossdale Care Agency ensures that in carrying out their role our staff implements person-centred thinking and which includes planning, monitoring and providing direct support and assistance. We are proud that Grossdale Care Workers facilitate and support individuals in decision making, promoting choice and involvement giving full regard to initiatives aimed at promoting client empowerment.

Our Care Workers are trained to ensure all medical needs are met and support individuals’ own needs and preferences. Our staff are skilled at interacting and participating with individuals’ in the development of self-help skills, supporting individuals to reach their potential for independence.

Once we have selected a Care Worker, we monitor their performance, training needs and try our utmost to maintain optimum continuity of care. These responsibilities are shared by our Learning Development Manager and Registered Manager.
